(Ledenrecensie) boek: Five Feet Apart RECENSIE

Dit boek is naar mening gewoonweg ontroerend en geweldig. Hij zou meer credit mogen verdienen want het boek werd populair door de film met Cole Sprouse maar naar mijn mening was het boek natuurlijk beter. De karakters dealen met hun cf problemen gecombineerd met hun thuissituaties. Je ziet hoe elk van de patienten anders omgaat met hun ziekte, de een deelt het met de wereld en maakt lijstjes om zichzelf bezig te houden en strikt haar schema te volgen. De ander tekent het weg en gaat juist laks om met een negatievere instelling en dan heb je derde heeft zijn familie in een ander land zitten en duwt zijn geliefden van zich af om hen en zichzelf te beschermen. Het is ontroerend om het zo te lezen en het leesvoer is toch luchtig omdat er genoeg humor in verhaal verworven zit. En hoe tragisch het liefdesverhaal ook verloopt, je voelt alles mee. Ik geef toe dat ik op het einde huilde om ze. Dit boek ben ik ook telkens bang om te herlezen omdat ik weet dat ik weer geraakt zal worden.
