Recensie The Wicked King | 5 hartjes

Jude, a master of biting off more than she can chew and then being mad about it, just wants to keep her baby brother and his hooves safe. Cardan just sort of hangs out and flicks his wrist lazily while lounging on the throne and for some reason this does not bother us because although Cardan really is awful we adore him because he’s an asshole but he’s an endearing asshole? An easy option for Jude continues to be LEAVING THE PLACE THAT ACTIVELY HATES HER but she refuses because she’s… she’s something. Murder Dad remains uncomfortably likable. Is something wrong with me? I think something might be wrong with me. Then there’s the mic-drop ending. You can guess how I felt about that. (Hint: it was glee.)

Jude, een meester in het afbijten van meer dan ze kan kauwen en er dan boos over zijn, wil gewoon haar kleine broertje en zijn hoeven beschermen. Cardan hangt gewoon een beetje rond en beweegt lui met zijn pols terwijl hij op de troon zit en om de een of andere reden stoort ons dit niet, want hoewel Cardan echt vreselijk is, aanbidden we hem omdat hij een klootzak is, maar hij is een innemende klootzak? Een gemakkelijke optie voor Jude is nog steeds DE PLEK VERLATEN DIE HAAR ACTIEF HAAT, maar ze weigert omdat ze... ze is iets. Murder Dad blijft onaangenaam sympathiek. Is er iets mis met mij? Ik denk dat er iets mis is met mij. Dan is er het einde van de microfoon. Je kunt wel raden hoe ik me daarbij voelde. (Hint: het was vrolijkheid.)
