** spoiler alert ** Part One: Armies and Allies

Admittedly things are getting pretty sticky. Lorcan continues to be obsessed with making Elide menstrual pads (but do they have wings?). Aelin… goes through some stuff. Cairn keeps telling Fenrys to pee in the hallway and Yrene, who I guess has been too busy saving people to take her contraception tonic, is pregnant which is great during a global war with demon gods. Our sweet baby angel Abraxos gets a girlfriend. Lysandra discovers that her plan of cosplaying as Aelin forever is pretty bad (although Aedion was pretty dickish about it). Having been given too much quality skincare by Maeve, Aelin has to have Rowan do the sex-neck-bitey thing all over again; coppery tang ahoy! Elide struggles, to put it mildly, with her feelings for Lorcan (girl, same). Manon kills an old woman and steals her hat while Dorian decides to kamikaze himself instead of getting grief counseling. Everyone starts the road trip to Terrasen, which should be fun.

Part Two: Gods and Gates

King Phantom Hands, hell-bent on dying for no reason, Stuart Littles himself into Morath. Gavriel congratulates Chaol on knocking up Yrene while also making it about him by once again lamenting about not having raised Aedion. Throats go a-bobbing. Dorian like, quadruple-crosses Maeve, like it’s actually confusing maybe get a map to follow along. Aedion confesses his love for Lysandra and then gets stabbed in the armpit. I hope you aren’t attached to the Thirteen because they’re not attached to anything, including this mortal coil. Lorcan and Elide have sex, presumably, but also maybe not because god forbid I get a good Lorcan/Elide scene when I had to read about Cassian’s seed for 750 pages last year like y’all I am straight up fuming about this. Aelin causes many forest fires before killing all the gods, I guess. Rhys shows up uninvited. Dorian briefly considers asking to join Chaol and Yrene’s marriage. Aelin force-feeds her blood to a dead guy and everyone lives happily ever after unless they died which they probably did.
