Dwayne Johnson als DC 'Black Adam'

In april 2019 verscheen de DC-film Shazam! in de bioscopen en dit was zo een groot succes dat er besloten is om Shazam! 2 te gaan maken. Er is echter nog meer goed nieuws, want op dit moment wordt er ook gewerkt aan een film over Black Adam, de duistere tegenhanger van Shazam!. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson gaat de hoofdrol in Black Adam spelen en hij heeft nu de releasedatum van de film verklapt.

Eigenlijk is het al sinds 2014 bekend dat Dwayne Johnson de rol van Black Adam gaat vertolken. Aanvankelijk was het plan dat hij als de slechterik zou verschijnen in de superheldenfilm Shazam!, maar die plannen zijn een tijdje geleden veranderd. Hierdoor krijgt Black Adam dus zijn eigen film en zal Dwayne Johnson in de hoofdrol te zien zijn.

Op Instagram heeft Dwayne Johnson eindelijk de releasedatum en de eerste conceptart van Black Adam gedeeld. Het duurt nog heel even, maar vanaf 22 december 2021 zal Black Adam in de bioscopen te zien zijn! En we vinden eigenlijk wel dat The Rock er erg goed uitziet in zijn superheldenpak.

Op dit moment zijn er helaas nog geen details over het plot van Black Adam bekendgemaakt. In de stripboeken wordt hij meestal neergezet als de anti-held/slechterik, hij is namelijk de duistere tegenhanger van de superheld Shazam!. Black Adam krijgt zijn krachten van de Egyptische goden en kan zich daardoor meestal wel staande houden tegen helden als Superman. Verder is hij nog de meedogenloze heerser-beschermer van het fictieve Midden-Oosterse land Kahndaq. Er is dus in ieder geval genoeg materiaal om mee te werken!
