Golden Globes 2021 winnaars en hoogtepunten

Dit jaar werden de Golden Globes voor de 78ste keer georganiseerd. Vanwege het Coronavirus ging de ceremonie er iets anders aan toe dan normaal. Er kon namelijk geen live publiek aanwezig zijn, dus werden de Golden Globes via Zoom in ontvangst genomen. Amy Poehler en Tina Fey presenteerden de avond. 

 

Hoogtepunten

Tijdens de uitreiking van de Golden Globes is er veel gebeurd. Zo wilde de acteur Daniel Kaluuya zijn Golden Globe in ontvangst nemen voor 'Best Actor in a Supporting Role' alleen stond zijn microfoon op stil! Het duurde eventjes voordat de techniek meewerkte en hij zijn speech alsnog kon houden. Ook tijdens de commercials werkte Zoom niet even goed. De kijkers kregen namelijk een aantal tv schermen te zien waarop verschillende Hollywood sterren te zien waren. Dit werkte niet altijd even goed, want er werd door elkaar heen gepraat, soms was het geluid van iemand ineens uit of was het een tijdlang stil.

Tijdens de ceremonie spraken Tina Fey en Amy Poehler zich door middel van een grappig monoloog ook uit over de vermeende corruptie en het racisme binnen de Hollywood Foreign Press Association én wisten ze op een leuke manier te vertellen dat we tegenwoordig een film van twee uur te lang vinden duren, maar dat we met alle liefde een serie van 5 uur bingen.

Ook Jane Fonda had iets belangrijks te zeggen tijdens de Golden Globes. Terwijl ze haar de Cecil B. DeMille Award in ontvangst nam zei ze het volgende: "Kunst heeft niet alleen gelijk gelopen met de geschiedenis, maar heeft ook de weg geleid. Laten we dus leiders zijn."

Chloé Zhao won de Golden Globe Award voor Beste regisseur voor de film Nomadland. Hiermee schreef ze geschiedenis, want ze is de eerste Aziatische vrouw die deze prijs in ontvangst mag nemen. Ook is ze pas de tweede vrouw ooit die de Golden Globe voor Beste regisseur heeft gewonnen.

Tot slot was er nog een mooi, emotioneel moment tijdens de uitreiking, want de pas overleden acteur Chadwick Boseman kreeg een Golden Globe voor de film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Zijn vrouw Taylor nam de award in ontvangst en zei: "Hij zou iets moois zeggen, iets inspirerend, iets dat dat stemmetje in ons allemaal zou versterken dat zegt: ‘je kan het’." Als ode aan deze geweldige acteur hebben wij ook zijn 5 beste films onder elkaar gezet.
